A few details about me.
“All we have to decide is what to do with the time given us.” – Gandalf: Lord of the Rings
So please decide to have your work or audio transcribed by me. 🙂
I am a Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate and also a Doctor of Medicine. So I am both a Physician and a Nurse. I have been an on and off freelance transcriptionist for the past five years and I am currently working as a home-based freelance transcriptionist as well as balancing my work as a physician.
Most of the transcriptions I have done were in the medical background as well as the media background, such as videos and podcasts. I do also have a lot of experience in different varieties of audios and media handed over to me.
I am very proficient and detailed-oriented in what I do, and that includes transcribing and putting in the work and effort in the things I do in life. I make sure that I do quality work and see to it that the client is satisfied.
How I got started in transcription.
During my summer vacation after my first year of medical school, I was very active in church activities and at the same time looking for work because I decided then that I would not ask my parents for money. I then stumbled into a news add of a company looking for freelance transcribers that could do work from their own homes. So I was attracted immediately and applied for the job and was taken. It was a struggle in the beginning but through experience and years of transcribing, I have gotten better and better.
It has been over more than five years since the first time I transcribed, and until now, as a licensed physician, I still want and like transcribing since I found it very fun and it had been something that I love doing.
How I describe myself as a freelance transcriber.
I am detail-oriented and somewhat of a perfectionist. I think it may have come from being a physician and a nurse at the same time.
I am very adaptable to any transcription styles and guidelines.
I type very fast and do my best to give the best quality work at the said time.
What I like most about being a freelance transcriber.
I get to listen to different stories and conversations where I can learn, adapt and apply to my life and conversations I have with people. It is rare to listen to all of these things from actual people themselves in the raw aspect of it. I get to also listen to different professionals and also listen to experiences of different people. I do love listening and transcribing at the same time. 🙂
A few things I learned in transcription that I will never forget.
The use of correct grammar and punctuation. I also learned how to use the different similarly sounding words and differentiate one from the other. It has helped me also broaden my vocabulary.
My favorite things to do when I’m not transcribing.
When I am not transcribing, I practice my profession as a physician. I help and heal people physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually as well.
Aside from doing transcriptions and practicing my profession as a doctor, I am also active in my church and in the community. I teach every Sunday and am part as well of our worship team. I do love to sing and to play the violin and guitar.
I love listening to music and watching movies. I’m somewhat of a movie geek. I also love to travel and experience new things. I love having an adventure.:)
