⚠️ Remember, companies may not always have open positions, but browsing job postings can give you a head start for when they do. Some may even be open to considering international applicants for the right role. Save this page and check back for updates.
What They Are & Who They Hire
- They welcome applications from experienced transcribers. They hire people who can work from home and in their office.
- However, they do not hire overseas transcribers. Applicants must be based in the United States; either working in-office or remotely from a US address.
Key Requirements
To work for them, you must meet the following:
Requirement | Details |
---|---|
Residency | Must have an address in the United States. |
Experience | Preferred: ~5 years of transcription experience. |
Vocabulary & Proofreading | Excellent vocabulary and proofreading skills. |
Equipment / Software | You must have your own transcription software (e.g. Express Scribe). |
Professional Requirements | References (3-5), background check, willingness to sign NDAs (depends on client), and no felony convictions. |
Timeliness & Responsibility | Punctual, able to meet deadlines; once you take a job, finish it. |
Pay & Working Conditions
- They note that payment delays are possible: plaintiffs pay them (the company) 30+ days out, so TranscriptionStudio may delay paychecks to transcribers to correspond with cash flow.
- Work hours are flexible but you must adhere to deadlines and complete any work you accept.
Summary & Key Limitations
- No international hiring — you must be in the US. This is a strict requirement.
- Strong experience requirement (~5 years preferred). That is higher than many other companies that accept 1-3 years or even beginners for certain roles.
- Some administrative & legal requirements: background checks, references, proof of identity & residency.
- Payment might be slower than some other contractors due to how their invoicing from clients works.
